What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?

Structured therapy addressing the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

Evidence Summary

Current evidence for CBT as an autism intervention remains very limited. Only one study meeting review criteria was identified, classified as limited in quality. This means we lack sufficient research to draw clear conclusions about how well CBT works for autistic individuals. More rigorous studies with larger groups of participants are needed to better understand CBT's potential benefits and limitations for autism support.
